Fascinated by Westerners who have donned the rags of the Hindu sadhu and renounced worldly life, Allsop undertakes to discover these longtime European and American expatriates. His quest is interesting enough, though his observations about how India's spirituality pervades daily life become overly familiar. "You go to buy peanut butter and... there is a picture of Krishna on the jar", he gushes. "Isn't that wonderful!"
