The Song of the Stranger: Discovering Your Melody of Belonging explores one of Scripture's most persistent images: the stranger-the person who stands outside, knows the distance, and longs to draw near.

Beginning with the ten lepers of Luke 17, the book follows the biblical journey of outsiders, foreigners, captives, and unlikely recipients of grace. Israel remembers its slavery in Egypt. Rahab hears of a God powerful enough to save. Ruth leaves Moab declaring, "thy God my God." Naaman crosses a border seeking healing. A Canaanite mother asks only for the crumbs that fall from the table. Again and again, those who know they have no claim upon God discover that His mercy is greater than their need.

But the story does not end with the stranger standing outside.

At the heart of the book are two words from Ephesians 2: "But now." Those who "were far off" have been "made nigh by the blood of Christ." They are "no more strangers and foreigners," but members of the household of God. Grace does more than permit the outsider to approach; it gives him a place to belong.

Song of the Stranger examines the tension between remembering where we came from and living confidently in what God has made us. It addresses spiritual imposter syndrome, the danger of allowing familiar blessings to lose their wonder, and the biblical call to remember without returning to an old identity.

The song of the stranger is therefore not a song of continuing exclusion. It is the song of someone who remembers the distance from which grace brought him. The voice that once cried from afar, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us," becomes the voice that returns with gratitude, worship, and celebration.

We sing the song of the stranger not because we are still outside, but because we remember Who brought us in.
