The Slua

The story opens in a coastal village perched on the edge of steep cliffs. Strange disappearances have begun - fishermen vanish from boats, travellers never reach their destinations, and children speak of voices calling from the wind. The villagers whisper about the Slua, the Host of the Unforgiven Dead, said to sweep across the sky like a storm of souls. When a young man named Eoin disappears while walking the cliff path, his sister Aisling becomes determined to uncover the truth. The village elders warn her that some mysteries are better left untouched, but Aisling refuses to accept silence. Her brother's absence becomes the catalyst for a journey into the realm of the dead.
Aisling begins her search by retracing Eoin's last steps. She finds his footprints leading toward the cliff's edge - and then simply stopping. No sign of a fall, no body, no struggle. Only a strange scorch mark on the grass, as though lightning struck without sound. She questions villagers, but fear keeps them silent. Aisling's determination isolates her; even her closest friends beg her to stop. She discovers old records of similar vanishings, each linked to nights of strange winds and eerie cries.
