The Iron Hussars of the Hudson

Captain Sterling Vance has one chance at redemption. Disgraced and desperate, he is ordered to lead the Iron Hussars-a unit of experimental steam-powered soldiers-through a dimensional rift in the Hudson River. Their mission: rescue a missing governor lost in a prehistoric wilderness.

But the valley is no ordinary fossil record. It is a humid jungle ruled by the Saurians, reptilian humanoids who command massive crystal obelisks to manipulate the very climate of the planet. As Vance and his metal-clad soldiers navigate the thick underbrush, they find themselves hunted by bio-mechanical dinosaurs and caught in the crosshairs of a corrupt Union Major who wants to weaponize this alien technology for his own gain.

When the ancient Saurians begin to wake from a thousand-year slumber to reclaim the modern world, Vance must choose between his military orders and the survival of the human race. Along with a brilliant scientist and a rebel Saurian ally, the Iron Hussars must sabotage the Great Obelisk before the world is terraformed into a prehistoric nightmare.
