The Ember Lantern

The fires of Xylos never go out. Nobody asks what keeps them burning.

In a city of glowing glass, endless warmth, and impossible architecture, fire is more than a source of light. It preserves what should have vanished, conceals what should have been remembered, and illuminates secrets that someone has spent generations trying to hide.

At first, Xylos seems magnificent.

Its streets shimmer beneath amber light. Its lanterns burn without fuel. Its buildings hold warmth long after the sun disappears.

But behind the beautiful glass, something is terribly wrong.

Rooms appear where none should exist. Reflections reveal lives that no longer belong to the living. And some flames seem to recognize the voices of people who are gone.

Still carrying the consequences of Crimson Earth, Rael, Eva, and Silas arrive searching for answers. Instead, they encounter Gelastus, the formidable Firewarden, whose determination to protect the city conceals a darkness more dangerous than the flames themselves.

As forgotten records emerge and the mysteries surrounding Rael's father deepen, the companions discover that Xylos has survived by refusing to let certain things end.

But the longer a secret is preserved, the more terrible its release may become.

And somewhere beneath the city, an extraordinary lantern is waiting.

What happens when the fire that saved a thousand lives becomes the thing that holds them prisoner?

To uncover the truth, Rael and his companions must venture beyond the safety of the glowing streets and confront a terrifying question:

If you could preserve everything you have ever loved, would you still know when to let it go?

The Ember Lantern is the fourth installment in AETHERLOOM, a spellbinding fantasy saga where beauty conceals danger, forgotten histories refuse to remain silent, and even the brightest light can cast a devastating shadow.
