The Eagle's Peace

Rome conquered Dacia. Now it must prove that conquest can become peace.

The war is over, but the province is far from secure. Bridges burn. Grain convoys vanish. Settlements that placed their trust in Rome are attacked, while deserters, profiteers, and rebels turn every Roman failure into a weapon.

Marcus has been ordered to restore the roads and protect the fragile new province. But victory will require more than marching legions. Working beside Crispus, Marcellus, Rufus, Roman engineers, veteran settlers, and loyal Dacian allies, he must defend an empire built not only with swords, but with law, discipline, and promises that must be kept.

Behind the attacks stands a conspiracy determined to make Roman peace appear impossible. Its agents reach from isolated watchtowers and burned villages to the courts and contracts of Apulum. While a Dacian warlord gathers strength, Marcus must uncover the men supplying the rebellion before the roads that bind the province become the paths of its destruction.

At Three Roads, Rome's enemies will make their final argument in blood.
