This book contains A. S. Eddington's 1914 monograph, "Stellar Movements and The Structure of The Universe". This fascinating treatise contains a full account of the state of astronomy in the early twentieth century, and is highly recommended for those with an interest in the history and development of this branch of science. Contents include: "The Data of Observation", "General Outline", "The Nearest Stars", "Moving Clusters", "The Solar System", "The Solar Motion", "The Two Star Streams", "The Two Star Streams - Mathematical Theory", "Phenomena Associated with Spectral Type", "Counts of Stars", etcetera. A must-read for the keen student of astronomy, "Stellar Movements and the Structure of the Universe" would make for a great addition to collections of allied literature. Sir Arthur Stanley Eddington (1882 - 1944) was an esteemed English mathematician, physicist, and astronomer during the early twentieth century. Many vintage texts such as this are increasingly scarce and expensive, and it is with this in mind that we are republishing this volume now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition. It comes complete with a specially commissioned new biography of the author.
