Seed dispersal is the process by which seeds move away from the parent plant to new places where they can grow. This helps prevent overcrowding and reduces competition for sunlight, water, and nutrients. Because seeds cannot move on their own, they rely on natural forces such as wind, water, animals, gravity, or even exploding seed pods to carry them to new locations. Seed dispersal helps plants spread to new habitats and increases the chances that their offspring will survive and thrive.
