Passing Strange

After Maddie's first traumatic week in Parrish Cove, she and Aidan are beginning to realize that there is a dark history lurking beneath the surface of this picturesque town. Aidan would love to forget everything that has happened, but Maddie is determined to learn all of the history this town holds.

On the outskirts of the town is the remains of an older version of Parrish Cove: a port and forest long damaged by an earthquake. The forest holds what remains of an academy where it is rumored that secret experiments were conducted by the same doctor whose well led Maddie and Aiden into danger.

While trying to help out a friend in need, Maddie and Aiden are led into exploring the forest and the rotting building, learning for themselves whether those stories are truth or legend...

Maddie just moved to the small coastal New England town of Parrish Cove. When she meets Aiden at the recent archaeological dig, she's convinced that the historical society is haunted and the dig is only going to make it worse. Aiden may not believe her but Maddie is determined to prove to him that ghosts are real and Parrish Cove is not as dull as it seems.

As Aiden and Maddie dive into the forgotten history of Parrish Cove over the summer, they uncover a secret that many have fought to keep hidden. Through determination the duo confront a forgotten well, an abandoned sanatorium, a lighthouse built to hide something sinister, a dying town, haunted harbors, cultists, and unreasonable parents.

Praise for the Passing Strange Series -

As they dealt with the creeping horror from the well, their actions were quite genuine. Their curious nature and acts of heroism rang true. No one can know how they'll react to situations like this and I'd like to think I would act half as brave as these kids did.... Saturday Screams
