Not Ashamed of the Gospel

Not Ashamed of the Gospel tells the story of Matti Leisola, a highly successful and award-winning Finnish scientist whose faith in Christ remained courageous and heartfelt across a long career in universities, laboratories, and industry. He is a former dean of Chemistry and Material Sciences at Helsinki University of Technology (HUT) and has served as research director for an international biotech company. He co-founded the International Society of Rare Sugars and was the founding editor of BIO-Complexity. Known as a contrarian who questions the credibility of evolution as a scientific theory, he described his adventures as an evolution critic in his co-authored book Heretic: One Scientist's Journey from Darwin to Design. But where does Matti draw the courage to challenge prevailing secular views? This book traces his personal and professional journey, showing how the faith of Matti and his wife Marja have helped to strengthen, challenge, and love countless people. Warm, candid, and inspiring, this book celebrates two lives spent unashamed of the Gospel. It deserves a wide reading.

Advanced Praise for Not Ashamed of the Gospel

Not Ashamed of the Gospel is the story of how the Leisolas, having been brought into the family of Christ, became the surrounding arms for countless others. Breaking bread in their home with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favour with all the people. That's the Leisolas.... May their Jesus-centred ministry multiply a thousandfold!

For decades, Matti Leisola has been a steadfast personal inspiration to me. His scientific acumen, his academic courage, but most of all, his deep faith, have stood as northern stars guiding me.... Highly recommended.
