The old, old favourites, Cinderella, Bluebeard, Thumbelina and Beauty and the Beast appear here clothed by the beautiful, delicate illustrations of Jennie Harbour, in both colour and black and white. Many of the earliest children's books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. Pook Press are working to republish these classic works in affordable, high quality, colour editions, using the original text and artwork so these works can delight another generation of children. About the Illustrator: Very little about Jenny Harbour is known other than that she published briefly in the 1920s and provided illustrations for Raphael Tuck, a renowned printer of illustrated postcards. Vibrant colours and Art Deco patterns full of energy and emotion characterise Harbour's work. Her postcards and illustrated books are now valuable collectors' items.
