206 pages and profusely illustrated with more than 320 illustrations diagrams and charts, size 8.25 x 10.75 inches. The primary focus of this manual is on the 1968-1972 Mercedes-Benz 280 Series including the 280SL, 280SEL, 280S and the 280SE models.

The manual is broken down into the following sections: Basic Fault Diagnosis, Engine, Fuel System, Ignition System, Cooling System, Clutch, Manual Transmission, Automatic Transmission, Rear Axle, Driveshaft & Rear Suspension, Front Suspension & Hubs, Steering, Brakes, Electrical System, Body, Technical Data, Torque Settings, Lubrication and Wiring Diagrams. In addition, there is also a detailed Fault Diagnosis at the end of each appropriate section. There are more than 320 illustrations, charts and adequate detailed text to assist in major refurbishing such as an engine rebuild or even a complete mechanical renovation making it an invaluable resource for collectors and restorers of these iconic automobiles.

As the contents of this manual are based on the original Mercedes factory workshop manual, any special tools will be identified by the appropriate Mercedes part number. However, they may also be substituted by equivalent tools available from many of the reputable aftermarket tool suppliers.

We encourage you to exercise caution when purchasing technical publications for your classic 280 Series Mercedes as many of the reprints found on internet websites are from 'bedroom sellers' at enticingly low prices by individuals that really have no idea what they are selling. Many are nothing more than poor quality, comb-bound photocopies that are scanned and printed complete with greasy pages and thumbprints and, as such, are deceptively described as 'pre-owned', 'used' or even 'refurbished'. In addition, they are often advertised for the incorrect series and/or model years. However, VelocePress.com has been publishing reprints of motorcycle and automobile manuals since 2003 and our publications have earned excellent reviews worldwide so you can be assured you are purchasing a quality product.
