Just as the World Championships come to a head, the esports world is thrown into chaos when the biggest games in the industry are suddenly and mysteriously shut down. In their wake, a new game rises, a mech fighting game that utilizes a revolutionary piece of technology called the DreamGear; a complete Virtual Reality system that thrusts its players into the game itself. To celebrate the game's entry into esports, a tournament is held. The grand prize being a spot as the figurehead of the new age of gaming.

Alexander Cole, a pro gamer left stranded after the end of the World Championships, is determined to master this new game and reclaim his position at the top of the gaming world. Struggling to navigate these sudden events, while dealing with a broken family, he is forced to fight in all new ways for everything he holds dear.

Carter Domont, a martial artist and son of a powerful business tycoon, finds himself embroiled in a plot to monopolize the esports industry. Forced to play this new game and driven by a desire to become the best swordsman in the game world, he fights for his heart in ways he never could have imagined.
