Since her immigration from Hungary in 1960, Katinka§Dániel has been involved in music education in the§United States, developing curricula, training§teachers, teaching students and inspiring countless§individuals with her knowledge, musical skill,§enthusiasm and energy. In Hungary, Dániel was§mentored in her teaching by Jenö Adám, who wrote what§came to be known in the United States as the Kodály§Method. Dániel developed a music curriculum based on§the Kodály concept that is still in use today. This§book relates the history of the music methodology§from it s beginnings in Hungary as conceived by§Zoltán Kodály and then adapted for use in the United§States by Katina Dániel. The methodology is described§in detail with references to the interest generated§through Dániel s materials and presentations. Katinka§Dániel continues to inspire music educators with her§teaching, her published materials and her story. This§book is of interest to teachers, students and§researchers interested in the heritage of the Kodály§concept of music education in the United States.
