Beginning in 1973, Dennis McNally, the Dead's publicist and biographer, recorded seven hours of unedited tape on which Jerry speaks opening about everything from his euphoric encounter with early R&B to hating himself for voting for Johnson in the '64 election. Jerry on Jerry deskills the most poignant, unguarded astute moments of these conversations, showing a side of Jerry that even his biggest fans have not known. In addition, the estate is releasing more than 100 photographs and ephemera to be included throughout the book.
