The names of Goddess and God in the ancient Indian spiritual tradition of Bhakti are Śrī Rādhā and Śrī Kṛṣṇa. They are residing in a realm called Vṛndāvan. Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa are meeting in the forests of Vṛndāvan in secluded places to enjoy their love and share their feelings. Hit Harivaṃśa, a 16th century devotee, describes in a sweet, poetic, and divine voice the intimate pastimes of the Divine Couple. We become witnesses of a divine and spiritual relationship. According to Hit Harivaṃśa ›Bhāv‹, feeling and emotion are the main ingredients for devotion to Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa.
The Hit Caurāsī is one of the famous scriptures of the Bhakti-tradition, yet this edition is the first translation into a Western language by an authentic spiritual practitioner of this tradition.
The translation and the commentaries of Pratibhā Gosvāmī are soaked with the divine ecstatic love to Godhead. She is a descendant of the famous Kṛṣṇa-poet Jayadeva Gosvāmī who wrote his Gīta Govinda in the 13th century. Pratibhā Gosvāmī lives in the holy town of Vṛndāvan since her birth.
These eyes are so greedy, even in a nanosecond of difference when blinking, Śrī Śyām Sundar feels that he has not seen Śrī Rādhā for millions of years. (vers 60, 4)
