Great Shadow

There is a place in a fertile valley between two great rivers, where civilization was first conceived. In humanity's dawn, city states clashed and merged, and an empire was born.

Shulgi, king and self-proclaimed god of the four quarters of the earth, rules Sumer and Akkad. His armies flood the surrounding lands and absorb the neighboring kingdoms. His priests convert and oppress, employing secret oaths and forbidden powers to subdue his enemies and allies.

Determined to expand the empire and conquer the known world, Shulgi conspires with his High Priest to create the ultimate weapon. They defy the gods and create an immortal giant with a demon soul to protect the king and destroy his enemies. They create Ganzer Dumu-bi, Son of Darkness, a warrior and executioner twice the size of any mortal man.

But this is not their story; it is his.

Kingdoms rise and fall, and Dumu lives on, cursed to walk the earth eternally. He must confront enemies old and new, and dark forces beyond his understanding. Alone he must discover the truth of his creation, and find purpose and meaning in a world that never wanted him.
