FROM THE PARENT STEM England and the Making of America

From the Parent Stem is a tapestry of the many events leading to the creation of the United States of America. Beginning in early Britain and ending in Philadelphia on July 4, 1776, this timeline tells a story so important that it will have a profound impact on the reader's understanding of our nation's origins as historical injustices are laid bare, cherished myths are set aside, and seldom-told tales are told.

From the Parent Stem: England and the Making of America is divided into four books:

Book I             The Beginning to 1699

Book II            1700 - 1773

Book III           1774 - 1775

Book IV           1776 - July 4, 1776

In addition to the many significant historical events, From the Parent Stem also includes correspondences of George Washington, daily entries from the Congressional Journals, and the important proclamations and petitions of Great Britain's Parliament and the two Continental Congresses, as all are intertwined with the social and military events of the day to provide the reader a new historical perspective.

While From the Parent Stem is a story meant to be read from start to finish, the timeline can also be used as a reference. To keep the text easy to understand and not overwhelm the reader, most entries are divided into three parts: the heading; supportive information; and additional notes designed to provide clarification, commentary, or interesting facts to enhance the reader's comprehension.
