FORWARD ONLY is the true story of a boy raised by his grandparents in small-town Texas whose life changed forever when the man he looked up to most-his grandfather-died when David was twelve.

What began as grief became restlessness, rebellion, and eventually a life defined by running. As a teenager, David crossed state lines, encountered law enforcement, spent time in juvenile custody, and began a journey that would eventually carry him across states and countries and into circumstances he could never have imagined as a child.
