Investing in a foreign country is a very complex undertaking. To do it right, one needs to understand what the country`s approach towards FDI is, what changes there have been in the trends of investments for the past years; what government incentives are provided to stimulate investments; which are the active catalysts that can also contribute to the promotion of the investments beyond the general inter-governmental frames and which consulting agencies can provide practical information regarding investments. This work not only describes how Hungary, as an outstanding and for years a leading country in the CEE region, chose a new path of development in the 1990`s, hallmarked by the predominant role of FDI but it also provides detailed answers to the above questions which should be especially useful to those intending to invest in Hungary.
