Easy Trios for Viola

Discover the Joy of Ensemble Playing!

Lauri Hämäläinen's Easy Viola Trios is an inspiring and pedagogically crafted collection of chamber music miniatures, published as part of the acclaimed Violin Friends series (originally titled Eight Trios). Specially designed for beginner and intermediate viola students, these eight charming pieces make group playing both fun and deeply rewarding.

Why music teachers and students love this book:

• Builds Core Chamber Skills: The trios are expertly structured to help students develop ensemble awareness, learn to play together, and master the art of listening to one another.
• Introduces Essential Techniques: Each miniature focuses on key playing styles and techniques, introducing students to 3/4 time, jumping bow, double stops, trills, glissandos, pizzicato, string crossings, and ricochet.
• Flexible Learning Support: Students can practice and perform along with helpful play-along videos available on the Violin Friends YouTube channel.

Publication Details and Format:

This 41-page publication features the individual viola parts, with the complete score conveniently included at the end of the book. This layout makes it easy for students to follow their own parts while allowing teachers and ensemble leaders to refer to the full score.

Versatile Arrangements:

Although originally written for three violins, this flexible collection is also available in arrangements for standard string trio, as well as dedicated cello and viola ensembles.

Easy Viola Trios is the perfect addition to any young violist's music stand, bringing energy, musical enjoyment, and collaborative growth to group lessons, music schools, and student recitals.

All Viola Friends music is easy to learn with the support of play-along videos on the Violin Friends YouTube channel and MP3 backing tracks available on the Violin Friends website: www.violinfriends.com.
