Don't Quit Your Daydream

You didn't quit your daydream. It was stolen from you, and you called it growing up.

Ask any little kid what they want to be and they'll tell you: an astronaut, a race car driver, a rock star. They don't say "that's unrealistic." Then somewhere between the classroom and the pay cheque, somebody typed a different destination into their brain. Same income no matter how hard you work. Same way of thinking about business. Same excuse, right before the brave thing.

James Schleusener has spent more than twenty years flipping houses on the Gold Coast, starting businesses, leading a church and counselling thousands of people. In seven plain-spoken chapters, backed by real research and the stories of people like Howard Schultz, Oprah Winfrey, Sara Blakely, Richard Branson and James Dyson, he hands you the seven thoughts that let you grab the wheel again.

Inside you'll find:

• Why the beliefs running your bank account were installed before you turned eight, and how to rewrite them
• The one question to ask before you take anyone's advice about money
• Why your brain sides with the room, and how to choose a better room
• How to price what you do by what people feel, not what it's worth
• Why "problems equal profit" and where your purpose is actually hiding
• Why the safe option is the one that costs you years, not dollars
• The seven thoughts as if-then plans you can start using today
