Cursed and Unbound

A Fantasy Romance Novel by M.L.W.

Some bloodlines are born to protect magic. Others are cursed to destroy it. Hers may be destined to do both.

For centuries, the twelve Guardian families have protected the gateway between the mortal world and Avalon-a breathtaking realm of ancient magic, powerful creatures, and secrets better left buried.

Sixteen-year-old Kalliope "Kallie" Cromwell was born into one of those families, destined to inherit a legacy of duty, sacrifice, and unimaginable power. But destiny has never been kind to the Cromwells, and Kallie is about to discover that the greatest dangers are not always the enemies lurking beyond Avalon's borders.

Sometimes, they are the secrets buried within her own blood.

When Kallie's world is turned upside down, she finds herself thrust into the dangerous world of Guardian training, where magic is a weapon, loyalty is everything, and weakness can mean death. Surrounded by formidable warriors, ancient rivalries, and powers she has yet to understand, Kallie must prove she belongs among those sworn to protect Avalon.

And then there's Osiris Rothfire.

Powerful, commanding, infuriatingly arrogant, and devastatingly handsome, the Guardian Commander is everything Kallie should avoid. He is her superior, a warrior bound by duty, and a man whose secrets run as deep as the darkness he commands.

He is also the one man she cannot seem to resist.

Their attraction is undeniable, their circumstances impossible, and their growing connection threatens to unravel far more than the rules governing Guardian courtship. Because Osiris carries burdens of his own, and loving him may prove just as dangerous as the enemies hunting them.

Beyond Avalon's magical boundaries, the Holy Knights of Rome have spent centuries hunting the Magic-Born, stealing their blood to sustain the unnatural powers they were never meant to possess. Twisted by their addiction to stolen magic, they will stop at nothing to reclaim what escaped them when Avalon was created.

And now, ancient secrets are stirring.

As Kallie's abilities awaken and fragments of a forgotten history begin to surface, she discovers that the truth surrounding her family, her magic, and the curse shadowing her future may be far more dangerous than anyone imagined.

With enemies closing in, loyalties tested, and forbidden passion threatening to consume her, Kallie must decide how much she is willing to sacrifice for the people she loves.

Because in a world where blood determines power, love defies duty, and ancient curses refuse to remain buried, even the strongest Guardian can fall.

She was born to protect Avalon.

He was sworn to uphold its laws.

But some bonds are more powerful than magic, and some destinies were made to be broken.
