The importance of properly integrating CALL into EFL §programs and monitoring its effects on teaching and §learning has been noted by numerous researchers. §However, an exhaustive search for studies on the §effects of CALL implementation in the Middle East §produced only a handful of reports on the use of §computers by Saudi university faculty members--none §directly concerned with the use of CALL in EFL §instruction. This book describes the current state §of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) in the §English as a Foreign Language (EFL) departments of §four government-funded universities in Saudi Arabia. §The information in this book should help university §administrators in their attempts to make §improvements in this area. Suggestions and §recommendations are also offered for encouraging the §use of CALL in these programs.
