Clay's Journey

Clay Washburn is in trouble. A helicopter crash leaves him horribly scarred and plagued by night terrors. His Army career is in shambles. He'll be forced out two years short of a full retirement unless he straightens out. He decides to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a cowboy, hoping it will help rebuild his life.

Barbara Mitchell, a 29-year-old woman whose entire life revolves around horses, is determined to remain celibate until the right man comes along, no matter how long it takes. She and her sister Sherry want to put their riding skills to the test.

Clay and Barbara meet at an Oklahoma dude ranch to participate in a mock cattle drive.

Sparks fly as they get to know each other. Their romance is cut short when murder and betrayal force them and Sherry to flee into the wilderness.

Clay must use all his training and experience to keep them alive while merciless killers pursue them.

Barbara discovers why the kind, gentle man she is falling for drinks so heavily and screams in the night. She is appalled by the lengths he will go to keep her and Sherry safe.
