Christmas with the Wise Men

The morning after the very first Christmas, Mary and Joseph are packing in a hurry--fleeing Herod's wrath with a newborn son and a strange encounter still fresh in their minds. Who was the quiet little boy with blue wings the Wise Men called "Little Tofa"? Who was the crying girl he comforted? And what became of Mary's prized blue sash?

Christmas with the Wise Men, the second installment in Perry Buffington's "Little Professor" mystery series, weaves back and forth between a present-day Christmas nativity play going sideways (again) and the untold story of the Wise Men's journey to Bethlehem--Balthazar, Gaspar, and Melchior racing against Herod's spies, guided by angels named Raphael, Gabriel, Michael, and Jimuel. At the center of it all is a mystery only a curious kid could untangle: who is Little Tofa, and why does he seem to remember it all forever?

Blending gentle mystery, angelic wonder, and genuine reverence for the Nativity story, this smart, fun, family-friendly read is perfect for anyone who loves a Christmas tale with a little more magic--and a little more mystery--behind the manger. Fans of the first "Little Professor" mystery, Christmas in Angel Land, will find Buffington's signature blend of wit, warmth, and wonder here again, wrapped around one of the oldest and most beloved stories ever told.

A cozy holiday mystery for readers of every age who believe the Christmas story still has secrets worth discovering.
