Through photographs from the archives of the Canton Preservation Society and many others representing Canton's various ethnic groups, Ronald E. Sterling has brought historic Canton to life. The images in Canton, Ohio, tell the story of well-known residents including Bezaleel Wells, William McKinley, H.H. Timken, and John Dueber. They also offer a glimpse into the ethnic communities of Canton, and the people who arrived in the city with not much more than lint in their pockets and a belief in the "Promise of America."
