As years have passed since British troops left Afghanistan, opinions have arisen regarding the British establishment's effort in the war in Afghanistan being waste of time. So much blood and treasure had been spilt over this harsh and unforgiving land, which has now made the British public sceptical about military interventions. This book explores the history of British involvement in Afghanistan and why the UK government should have learned from its past experiences given that not much was achieved from the 2001-2014 conflict.
