Beyond the Threshold

Some doors are meant to stay closed.

Thirteen-year-old Nyx Ashmoor has spent his life hearing stories about Elder Dark, the ancient forest looming beyond the village of Briar Hollow. Travelers vanish beneath its branches. Voices call from places where no one stands. And after sunset, even the bravest villagers know better than to answer when the darkness whispers their name.

Nyx never expected the stories to be true.

Then something beneath his family's cabin begins to wake.

With his sixteen-year-old sister, Liora, Nyx discovers that their mother left behind more than unanswered questions. Hidden beneath the Ashmoor home is an ancient threshold-one their family has guarded for generations-and two relics tied to a forgotten duty: a black iron key that can awaken what has been buried and a pale latch that can refuse what should never pass.

But the protections around Briar Hollow are failing.

Black roots spread beneath the village. Creatures called the Borrowed wear familiar faces and stolen voices. Old secrets surface. And somewhere within Elder Dark, something ancient is waiting for the Ashmoor heirs to come closer.

Nyx and Liora must enter the forest and uncover the truth their mother died protecting.

But Elder Dark remembers more than anyone realizes.

And the monster waiting beyond the threshold may not be the true danger at all.

Beyond the Threshold is the first book in The Elder Dark Saga, a dark fantasy adventure filled with ancient secrets, sibling loyalty, supernatural horror, forgotten guardians, and the terrifying things that wait just beyond the places we were warned never to enter.
