The Complete Poems of Li Bai in Calligraphy, Vol. 1 is the tenth collection by calligrapher Lillian Don (Dong Yang Lirong) and the first volume of her most ambitious project: the complete poems of Li Bai rendered in calligraphy, in two volumes. A practitioner of running-cursive script, Don has devoted her Enchanting Calligraphy series to carrying classical Chinese poetry through the brush - and in this volume her brush meets Li Bai, the brightest star of Tang poetry.

Each poem is presented in her running-cursive calligraphy, accompanied by a plain-language Chinese commentary and an English translation, typeset in traditional characters. From the timeless homesickness of "Quiet Night Thoughts" to the chivalric fire of "Song of the Knight-Errant," from the unbridled revelry of "Bring in the Wine" to the solitary pride of "Drinking Alone Under the Moon" - Li Bai's verse holds the grandeur of the High Tang, and Don's calligraphy answers it across a thousand years.
